About the event
Originally from North West River in Labrador, Shirley Montague moved to Norris Point with her husband in the 1970s. No stranger to the stage, Shirley has performed her original songs around the world - songs that are inspired by a love of our province and the beautiful sights it provides.
Shirley is the recipient of numerous awards including Hospitality NL's Cultural Tourism Award, Music NL's "Denis Parker" Industry Builder Award, ECMA's "Stompin' Tom" Unsung Hero Award, The Historic Sites Manning Award and NLFolk Arts Society's Lifetime Achievement Award. She also received an Honorary Doctorate from Memorial University in 2019.
One of her greatest pleasures is sharing and making music with others. We are absolutely thrilled to Shirley as our featured artist for an intimate evening of music and storytelling. This is one show you won’t want to miss.
